Maggie and David Dance at Their Reception

Maggie + David

A DREAM WEDDING IN DENVER

From a meet-cute in RiNo to wedded bliss at Hotel Born

After being introduced by a particularly savvy wingman at RiNo bar The Matchbox, an immediate connection spawned a 3-hour conversation between Maggie and David, and they’ve been together ever since. Though they knew they wanted to have their wedding in Denver before embarking on a big move to Seattle for Maggie’s job, it took a lot of looking around before they landed on Hotel Born as the perfect destination for their dream wedding.

After a moving ceremony at Downtown Denver’s Holy Ghost Church, the newlyweds and their guests were ready to get their party on with cocktails in the Apres Foyer and a reception in the Aspen Ballroom. With the help of their Hotel Born wedding coordinator, Erica, they transformed the ballroom into an atmosphere of moody romance using dark fall colors for the florals, crystal candelabras and real burning candles throughout the space. “The backdrop of the wood paneling and the amazing carpet were a perfect start to our look. We wouldn’t have been able to accomplish it anywhere else. It was perfection!”

After an evening filled with drinks, dancing and catering by Citizen Rail that resulted in “by far the best food at a wedding I have ever had,” the couple retired to Hotel Born’s Bridal Suite to celebrate their first night as husband and wife and the adventures that lay ahead.

Memorable Details

The couple began their day in Hotel Born’s Bridal Suite and ordered room service so that they could relax before the big event. “What was such a lovely surprise was when we got another knock on the door and the staff had brought us a variety of fresh squeezed juices on the house! They were great for making mimosas.”

We finally stumbled upon Hotel Born and it was a no-brainer from the minute we walked into the lobby. We felt like we were home and the vision of our wedding started coming together right in that moment.

Cocktail hour was in the Apres Foyer and on the terrace. “The [foyer] and terrace are so beautiful as-is, it was amazing to use items that were already there as part of our décor. Everything in the hotel is gorgeous and we couldn’t believe how little we had to do to bring our vision to life.”

During cocktail hour, the newlyweds were craving a well-deserved break. Thankfully the chef had set aside appetizers for the couple to snack on while they enjoyed a few moments for themselves in the Bridal Suite while guests sipped cocktails and smoked hand-rolled cigars. “People still talk about the cigar rolling and how it was such a unique offering at a wedding!”
