Saying “I Do” with a View in Denver

Romance Abounds with a Terrace Wedding

Long-time family friends Rebecca & Kenneth knew each other as children, but it wasn’t until her sister’s wedding in the summer of 2016 that romance blossomed. They now call Denver home together and knew a downtown wedding was a must. It was their affection for Hotel Born’s architecture and décor, a love of on-site restaurant Citizen Rail and an appreciation for the unbeatable views of Union Station from our terrace that helped them choose their venue. Said the couple, “We felt right at home as soon as we toured it for the first time, and grew to love it more and more with every visit.”

Their wedding day, from the emotional first look on the grand staircase to the romantic Nordic Terrace ceremony and the jubilant reception where bride and groom were surrounded by their nearest and dearest, was truly unforgettable.

Memorable Details

It was a particularly warm September evening, perfect for the 90 guests to gather for the ceremony on Hotel Born’s Nordic Terrace overlooking Union Station. In front of a canopy embellished with fresh flowers, a lifelong friend of the couple officiated, lending a thoughtful and personal touch to the remarks.

“What I will remember the most about the Born is how much it reflected the personalities of my husband and myself.”

Post-ceremony, the newlyweds headed to the rooftop of the hotel with the best man and matron of honor to sign the marriage license and pop the cork on a bottle of Silver Oak Cabernet. The photographer was there to capture a well-deserved toast in front of a gorgeous sunset that lit up the Denver skyline.

The reception included a fabulous meal catered by Citizen Rail. The wedding cake, however, was a family affair. A funfetti cake with cream cheese frosting was homemade by the bride’s mother, sister and niece. After dancing the night away with loved ones, the bride and groom finally said their goodnights and retired to the Urban One Room Suite for their first night as husband and wife.
