Meet the Creators
With the vision of opening a neighborhood restaurant reminiscent of the Italian frascas they had visited in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Bobby Stuckey and his business partner, chef Lachlan Mackinnon Patterson opened their first restaurant, Frasca Food and Wine, in August 2004 in Boulder, CO. Having researched and traveled throughout Italy many times, both were deeply inspired by this region, particularly its passionate relationship between food and wine, and the gracious hospitality of the locals. Mackinnon Patterson and Stuckey opened Pizzeria Locale Boulder, a full-service contemporary pizzeria inspired by the traditional pizzerias of Naples, Italy, in January 2011.
Mackinnon Patterson has earned numerous awards, including: Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs 2005; James Beard Foundation Award’s Best Chef: Southwest, 2008; and a season competing on BRAVO’s Top Chef Masters. In 2004, Stuckey also earned the Master Sommelier Diploma from the Court of Master Sommeliers. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, Frasca Food and Wine was nominated for Outstanding Wine Service, winning the prestigious award in 2013. In 2014, Stuckey was named Wine Enthusiast’s Sommelier of the Year. In 2015 and 2016, Frasca Food and Wine was nominated for Outstanding Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation. In 2015, Bobby and Lachlan introduced Peter Hoglund as a managing partner in the Frasca Food and Wine group. Having worked from polisher to partner in 5 years, Hoglund manages operational responsibilities.
